The Orange County Transportation Authority has announced that it will be offering free bus rides on New Year’s Eve in order to promote safe transportation for Orange County revelers.
According to CEO Will Kempton’s OCTA Weekly Update from December 28, free rides aboard fixed-route buses will be offered from 6 p.m. Monday, December 31 through 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
Over 16,000 free rides were provided last New Year’s Eve and more than 120,000 since the program’s 2002 launch, the announcement said.
