Nighttime lane closures on Interstate 5 in San Juan Capistrano are scheduled to take effect starting Sunday night until Tuesday morning, as part of Caltrans’ I-5/Ortega Highway Interchange Project.

Both the northbound and southbound I-5 lanes, from Camino Capistrano to Junipero Serra Road, will be closed between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to allow construction crews to begin restriping work and place K-rail barriers to prepare for major work.

The work was originally scheduled to take place on Monday, February 18, but rain forced a delay.
