Residents of South Orange County may have felt a light shake after around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29, when a 3.6-magnitude earthquake hit just about 30 miles east-northeast of San Clemente Island.
The earthquake was followed by a 1.5-magnitude aftershock roughly 22 miles east-northeast of the island, according to the U.S. Geological Survey,
