The Capistrano Dispatch

On March 6, Nicole DoNascimento, author of the children’s book, The Lucky Nickel, visited classes from Kindergarten readiness through second grade at Mission Basilica School in San Juan Capistrano. During her visit, which was part of a two-day book tour, DoNascimento reviewed reading skills with the students and asked reading comprehension questions, in addition to discussing the book’s theme, which conveys the importance of giving and how it can make a difference in the lives of others. At the end of the story, students were able to share with the class how they have helped others in need.
