Zach Brogdon has been named the new head boys basketball coach at JSerra Catholic High School, the school announced in a press release on April 29.
Brogdon will replace Joedy Gardner, who guided the Lions to an 18-11 season in 2015, his seventh and final year at the helm.
Brogdon is no stranger to the area, having served as the head basketball coach at Capistrano Valley Christian since 2010. Brogdon, 28, is a CVCS alum and helped vault the small-school program into the role of playoff contender.
Under Brogdon, the Eagles went a combined 125-46 in six seasons and claimed three league championships. Brogdon’s Eagles advanced to their CIF-SS division’s semifinals in three consecutive seasons and appeared in the CIF Southern California Regional tournament twice.
