  • The Samish Indian tribe look nothing like all other Indian tribes I seen. I met Indians in Nevada, Colorado, Utah and Texas. Some of the Samish Indians do look like Indians I have met. But most pictures on this page, look mostly white. Accept for the women who has a bone in or under her nose inserted. These people come from almost every corner of the world. I love their elaborate dresses. Guess they wear them at ceremonial gatherings and dances. Never before have I heard the name Samish Indians. We all have heard of Apaches, Ute, Shoshone, Sioux, etc. But these Samish Indians have no resembles in looks to them. I’m German born, but live in Texas for quite some time. Never ones has anyone ever mentioned this tribe. Wonder why that is.
Am I correct in saying that these Indians look white? I certainly will ask my children, who were schooled here in the States, if they ever heard of Samish Indiands. I was schooled in Germany, but never heard of this tribe. Well we were not really schooled to learn much about Indians. The only thing we were told was that the white man stole their lands and was continuously lied to by the government. The white man herded them like cattle’s into reservations. To me that is a very shameful past of America.
Thank you for allowing me to comment on this Story. Sincerely, Gigi Hammer.
