The Capistrano Dispatch
This summer, residents have the opportunity to become a homestay family and host one of Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano’s college intern-teachers. Aspiring educators from across the country apply to teach at Breakthrough SJC—a tuition-free program providing academic enrichment opportunities and support for highly motivated, underserved middle and high school students.
Teachers arrive in Orange County on June 16 and depart approximately Aug. 12—a nine-week stay. Hosts only need to provide teachers with a place to sleep, work, access to food and laundry, and clear expectations and rules of their home.
If you’re interested in hosting an intern-teacher for summer 2015, you can complete an interest form online at: www.tfaforms.com/344564. For a hard copy of the form, or for more information, contact Lily Panish at 949.661.0108 ext. 348 or lily.panish@smes.org.
