The Capistrano Dispatch

The city of San Juan Capistrano is holding its annual Fourth of July festivities at the Sports Park on Saturday, July 4 from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There will be plenty of food and beverages available to purchase, as well as sponsor booths with giveaway items and other vendors. The city will also be hosting a carnival with rides and activities from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The youth area includes numerous rides and attractions geared towards kids, including a free ride throughout the park on the newest attraction, the trackless race car pull. Family Style will perform live on stage from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and the fireworks display to choreographed music begins at 9 p.m.

Parking is available in the Sports Park complex as well as on the street. A free neighborhood shuttle will also be available for this event only in the immediate area of the Sports Park. The shuttle runs from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and is handicapped accessible.

Ticket Prices:
Single Tickets: $1.25 each
Sheet of 20 Tickets: $25
Sheet of 32 Tickets: $29
(Most rides require 3 tickets)

Attendees can also purchase an unlimited use wristband for $25. Wristband rides run from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and wristband sales end at 5:30 p.m. After 7 p.m., all rides will require tickets.

Personal fireworks and barbecues are prohibited, and the city asks that all pets be left at home as fireworks can startle the animals. Canopies are welcome if they’re placed in the rear of the park. For additional information, call 949.493.5911.
