A petition on is urging investigations to continue regarding the death of Erica Alonso, who was found dead in April 2015 east of Ortega Highway after being missing since February of that year. Her cause of death was determined to be an overdose involving GHB and alcohol, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials determined that the death was not a homicide, but Alonso’s family disagrees. The petition had more than 3,400 signatures as of Feb. 3, with a goal of 5,000 signatures.
