Staff report

Students without a computer may fall behind in their classwork as virtual learning becomes crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Cox Communications has stepped up to help.

Cox donated computers to Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano, which assists underrepresented students. Breakthrough SJC thanked Cox in a recent edition of their newsletter.

“The outpouring of support to ensure our students are connected and able to engage in our virtual program, along with their remote schooling, has been immense,” Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano said. “The need has been high; in recent needs surveys, 12% of students share a device among family members, and 4% lack a working device to access the Internet with a keyboard.”
