Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Oct. 28 from residents interested in filling a vacancy on the city’s Design Review Committee. The City Council will appoint a citizen-at-large member to the committee.
The appointee must be a registered voter in the city of San Juan Capistrano. The appointee is also required by state law to file Fair Political Practices Commission conflict of interest statements upon appointment, annually, and upon leaving office.
The Design Review Committee consists of two at-large members, one at-large alternate to serve in the absence of the appointed regular member, one Planning Commission member and one Planning Commission alternate to serve in the absence of the appointed regular member.
Committee members have a design background in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or similar experience related to the design of physical improvements and buildings.
Duties of the Design Review Committee include reviewing and making recommendations to development applicants on the design of projects for compliance with the goals and policies of the city’s General Plan Community Design Element.
Application forms are available through the city’s website at www.sanjuancapistrano.org. Hard copies are also available at City Hall, located at 32400 Paseo Adelanto.
