The Fiesta Association announced longtime San Juan Capistrano residents and volunteers Deborah and James Valgean as Ms. Fiesta and Señor San Juan during its annual kickoff barbecue on Sunday, October 20 at Zoomars Petting Zoo.
The Valgeans will serve as dignitaries for the association during the 2014 Fiesta de las Golondrinas season and the 56th Swallows Day Parade, which will be held Saturday, March 22 and is heralded as the largest non-motorized parade in the country.
Last month, the association also announced its grand marshal for the parade, Jim Curwood, owner of Buy My Bikes. This year, the association will be partnering with the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center to select its junior dignitaries, and a Shea Center client will also design the artwork for the fiesta season and parade guide.
