The San Juan Capistrano Friends of the Library is joining in the Swallows Day festivities with a special book sale on March 12 at The Bookstore, adjacent to the library. The sale will run from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature an array of used books for bargain prices, as well as an extensive collection of books by Western writer Louis L’Amour. The Bookstore is located 31495-A El Camino Real in San Juan Capistrano.
The Friends of the Library is also set to host a lecture at The Bookstore on Tuesday, March 22, at 4 p.m. with Robert W. Jordan, the former United States ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 2001 to 2003. Jordan is the author of Desert Diplomat: Inside Saudi Arabia Following 9/11. The event is free, though a $10 donation is suggested. A reception and book signing will follow the lecture.
