On Tuesday, Aug. 2, the Irvine Improv is hosting a fundraiser for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention featuring three headliners—Showtime’s Don Friesen, The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Brogan and NBC weatherman/funnyman Fritz Coleman.

Presented by San Juan Capistrano comedian Jim Taylor, the evening of comedy begins at 8 p.m. Attendees must be 18 years old or older, and tickets are $20 and are available online at occomedyevent.com. Ticket sales the day of the event will be available at the back door. The Irvine Improv has a two item minimum purchase requirement. All ticket proceeds will go toward suicide prevention.

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the country, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

“We are losing on average one person per day to suicide,” Taylor said. “By getting resources and help out to the people who need it, we can try and reduce that number.”

The Irvine Improv is located at 527 Spectrum Center Drive.
