On Dec. 9, Luke Robinson and his dog Indiana arrived at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in San Juan Capistrano, making a stop on their 2,000-mile walk to raise funds and awareness for canine cancer. Robinson is spending six months walking from Ontario, Canada to the border of Mexico—his second walk after losing a dog to cancer. During their visit, a VSMG veterinarian conducted a health check and wellness exam to ensure Indiana is in good shape for the rest of their journey. Robinson established the Puppy Up Foundation to research common links between, and causes of, canine and human cancers. The foundation has funded $250,000 in studies and another $100,000 in education and awareness initiatives. For more information, visit www.puppyup.org.
