The 32nd annual and National Night Out Against Crime will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4. On this day, residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on porch lights and spend the evening getting to know neighbors and promote neighborhood unity against crime.
In honor of the national event, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the city of San Juan Capistrano Police Services will host a public safety open house on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Descanso Park, 32506 Paseo Adelanto, behind the Police Services building.
Interactive demonstrations and displays about public safety will be featured at the gathering, as well as activities for children, music, food, refreshments and information booths. The community-building campaign is designed to educate and empower both the citizens and local businesses in town.
