The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved the $5.8 billion budget for the coming fiscal year on June 23, which comes with $723 million in general purpose revenue, of which $687 million is available for discretionary programs.
A portion of the funding is slated to be used for internal investigations, the release stated; however, the supervisors may consider a different model for oversight functions in the next 30 days. The fiscal year begins July 1.
