Around 500 guests arrived at El Adobe de Capistrano on Thursday night to sample the best of south Orange County’s restaurants at the Taste of San Juan, hosted by the Fiesta Association.
Twenty restaurants participated in the annual event, in which guests taste a variety of dishes and vote for their favorites at the end of the night.
El Adobe de Capistrano came away with the “Best Appetizer” of the night. Sundried Tomato American Bistro & Catering was awarded the “Best Original Dish.” Perennial winner L’Hirondelle won for “Best Main Course,” and downtown sweet factory 3:16 Bakery won “Best Dessert.”
Mayor Sam Allevato and Councilmen Larry Kramer and John Taylor, along with each of their wives, all attended the event.
The Fiesta Association is the all-volunteer nonprofit that organizes the famed Swallows Day Parade and Fiesta de las Golondrinas season. For more information about the Fiesta Association, visit their website, www.swallowsparade.com.
