Four San Juan high school teams will play in the 2013 CIF-SS Football Championships, which start Friday, November 15. The CIF-SS released the football playoff brackets Sunday morning. Here is a breakdown of which teams are in, including their first round matchup.
San Juan Hills defeated Dana Hills on November 8 to claim the Sea View League title and a No. 1 seed in the Southwest Division bracket. The Stallions will host Fountain Valley, the No. 3 team out of the Sunset League, Friday at 7 p.m.
St. Margaret’s went undefeated in the Academy League and 9-1 overall on the season. The Tartans will host Twentynine Palms (De Anza No. 3) in the East Valley Division first round on Friday at 7 p.m.
Saddleback Valley Christian defeated rival Capistrano Valley Christian 26-0 on November 8 to win the San Joaquin League championship. Both the Warriors and Eagles are playoff-bound.
Saddleback Valley Christian hosts California Military Academy (Arrowhead No. 2) on Saturday, November 16 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal at 7 p.m.
Capistrano Valley Christian will host Boron (Desert Mountain No. 2) on Friday at 7 p.m. The venue is TBA.
