San Juan Capistrano student Manoah Marton recently helped Concordia University Irvine earn the top title at the National Parliamentary Debate Association’s Championship Tournament, defeating schools such as CSU Long Beach, the University of Nevada and the University of Oregon. Concordia took the title of best college at the national tournament.
Concordia earned a total of 64 points throughout the competition over the runner-up Washburn University’s 58 points. The competition, which consisted of 153 teams from 50 colleges and universities across the country, took place at Kansas City Kansas Community College March 15-17.
